after some years of hiatus Loll and Roland who were/are in GROWING MOVEMENT formed a new band that was called SOUTHERN STARS. like GROWING MOVEMENT they drew influence from N.Y.C. but they were far more melodic. they played some shows and were such a convincing live act that MAD MOB offered to release a record. one week before the record should be sent to the pressing plant the singer Loll got into trouble with the law once again and this time got a 3 years sentence. this are the tracks that should have been on the debut. the pic of their singer Loll was taken at the GROWING MOVEMENT / ERADICATE show at WASCHBRETT Regensburg´s notorious PUNK pub.

D.S.G. - HALLO MR. ROTHSHILD! 7"

D.S.G. (pronounced: dis-t-chick) were/are one of Bavaria´s most underrated bands ever! period! the managed to combine being from Bavaria with some sort of a SoCal feeling which together with the vocals made their sound quite unique! tuneful, melodic PUNK with enough rough edges to keep them away from being clean cut and singalong choruses that fortunately avoided the bubblegum brainlessness that is associated with melodic PUNK/HARDCORE these days so often thanks to morons like you-know-who! this 7" was released on A.B.P. Records (when A.B.P. still meant ALT BAYERN POSSE) and later re-issued as a tape that had the 7" on one and their demo on the other side. drummer Musch and guitarist Flo played both in REVOLTE and Flo played in STATIC 84 for a while. Lumpi the 2nd guitarist replaced Susi in WUTENTBRANNT when she moved to Hamburg.

when SCHIZOPHREN split up cause their bassplayer died the guitarist and 3 other guys formed AN-ROTZEN. but cause their bassplayer thought he was a skinhead and constantly annoyed them with skinhead type lyrics they always had trouble. when he glued a pic of his girlfriend on his bass the rest decided that he stepped out of line once to often and kicked him out. in their really short career they recorded this demotape (that was recorded without a bass) and played 2 concerts. as you might have guessed from the name AN-ROTZEN their main influence was AUS-ROTTEN and they managed to write quite some cool songs with AUS-ROTTEN type dual vocals and riffs!

WUTENTBRANNT - REHEARSAL ROOM RECORDINGS

I saw WUTENTBRANNT, way back then called OFFER RESISTANCE, open for REVENGE & MIOZÄN and really liked them! they really raged! sad but true WUTENTBRANNT haven´t left much information! there was this 9 song tape that was recorded in their rehearsal room, but then their original guitarplayer moved to hamburg and they didn´t practice for such a long time that even the people in the band couldn´t remember all titles! somehow they didn´t manage to get someone to replace her for ages! finally the guitarist of D.S.G. took over the part and they started to play live again. I saw every concert they did with the new line up except 3 and every single show was great. I still can´t understand why someone like Emil drops out of everything he once considered important to follow the shady "spiritual" advises of Maharishi Mahesh Yogi of Transcendental Meditation. the tracks on the split 7" with SUBKUTAN and the tracks on the 3 AKKORDE FÜR DIE FREIHEIT 7" comp. have been taken from this tape!

ERADICATE - BROKEN 7"

read what MRR and HEARTATTACK said about this 7" and while reading keep in mind what the people that wrote those reviews didn´t know: those tracks were recorded in Munich at a studio done by an alcoholic who fucked them up! STATIC 84 recorded at the same studio and he fucked up their tracks too! in the case of the STATIC 84 recordings he didn´t fuck them up as much as this here but that is mainly cause they were way more on the melodic side. when we went to a really expensive studio (one where pros record) and tried to remix it we had to find out: no chance! the idiot had pluged in 2 cables the wrong way and fucked up those recordings forever! STATIC 84 had to find out he dad done the same to them! besides the fucked up recording I should add that I don´t consider this to be the best ERADICATE songs that were written and that after this recordings were done our bassplayer quit or better disappeard. he said bye when we left the studio, moved to another city and none of us has seen or heard him since! so the AN-ROTZEN guitarist Chris switched to bass and joined us. b.t.w. there was a tape version (I think we made 100 of them) of the 7" with some bonus tracks (incl. a CITIZENS ARREST and a BUTTOCKS cover) for the tour with DROP DEAD. and the x-ray pics on the cover and on the inner sleeve show the spine of my neighbor´s girlfriend who broke her back in a car crash but has had good luck and is alive and well today.

here´s the REVOLTE discography. REVOLTE just had a short life span, consisted of people who were playing in REVENGE, WUTENTBRANNT & D.S.G. and played ripping fast and furious HARDCORE! their discography isn´t that long as all they recorded was their 10" and one song that appeared on the PAYOLL BENEFIT COMP. 7"! this band was spitting venom on their recordings but even more while playing live! the 10" was released as a split project between many different labels as everybody who saw them live was blown away by them! REVOLTE were one of the bands were musicanship and anger worked hand in hand perfect! all their lyrics were in German and if you read them without having heard the music they might appear as somehow clumsy but together with the music they somehow perfectly fit!

STAGNATION´S END 12''

Günzburg´s STAGNATION´S END evolved from the good band they were on their 7" into one of Germany´s most brilliant bands! if you don´t believe me listen to this 12". it´s a mix of a little bit S.E.H.C., a little bit CRUST, a little bit METAL, and a little bit San Diego sound. the result is a cocktail that you won´t find anywhere else that soon! one of the things that put them above other bands was their skills as musicians - especially the skills of Markus the guitar player (who switched places with the singer on 2 songs) . sad but true but the same reason that made them a brilliant band was the reason for their split. Markus, who made a living of playing trumpet (if I remember correct) in a commercial big band, decided that he couldn´t handle 3 bands at the same time anymore and decided to leave STAGNATION`S END to concentrate on his other band KITTY EMPIRE (which were/are the German version of the San Diego post-HC sound). as there was no one to replace him that meant the end of their career. if you want to know how the story went on after Markus announced that he would leave continue here!

REVENGE 10"

the REVENGE 10" - the final release of one of my all time fave bands! this 10" offers 16 tracks incl. a cover of CRUCIFIX´s SEARCH FOR THE SUN which appeared on the PROTEST MEANS ACTION compilation 12" too but this version is way better as REVENGE have the worst sound on the whole compilation! anyway, this 10" was recorded by the same guy who has recorded their 2nd 7". this guy has a mobile studio with which he came to their rehearsal room. on their 2nd 7" he did a great job but here he fucked up! the sound isn´t like it was supposed to be - it lacks brutality! another record that could have been way better if the sound enginer wouldn´t have fucked up! it´s got really great songs and is still good but not as good as it could have been! after it´s release REVENGE went on a 2 weeks Germany tour together with WORLD CHAOS. I drove them on this tour and even though I fucked up my van and therefore lost a lot of money, I still consider this tour 2 of the best weeks of my life!

STATIC 84´s THE SERVANTS ARE RISING 12" that was released on JOIN THE TEAM PLAYER records in may 2000 is the best melodic HARDCORE album that that was ever released by a German band! period! it includes 12 driving tracks that are catchy and rock like hell! the last song on the record WORLDS COLLIDE was already on their 7" and was re-recorded for the 12". WORLDS COLLIDE is the only mid tempo song on the record but is as catchy as the other tracks. their myspace site says: Lyric-wise STATIC 84 were far from the regular meaningles MTV lyrics that seem to be so typical for bands of that genre. Their songs deal with those situations in live that we all have to face at one point or another - missed opportunities, regrets and the personal struggles one has to go through when trying to get by in hard times. which is true! when they recorded this, they recorded one song that didn´t make it on the record but can be downloaded here!

here´s the WUTENTBRANNT / SUBKUTAN split 7" for your listening pleasure. the tracks of WUTENTBRANNT were recorded in their rehearsal room with just 2 mics somewhere in the room. so the quality is a little rough but still ok. music-wise you get fierce CRUST with dual vox. played by people who were in bands like REVENGE, REVOLTE, QUATTRO STAGIONI, BOOT DOWN THE DOOR, CRUSHED BY ALE, DOOMTOWN, MÖNSTER and some others while they were playing in WUTENTBRANNT or after WUTENTBRANNT called it a day!. SUBKUTAN were based on the other side of Germany. rough sound quality too! music-wise this is fast PUNK!

the 25/12/2005 was Rob, the BOOT DOWN THE DOOR singer´s 40ht birthday. cause of this REVENGE and BOOT DOWN THE DOOR played a gig in Regensburg. sad but true: I forgot to bring a 2nd pair of batteries with me so no BOOT DOWN THE DOOR pics!

STAGNATION´S END / PARANOIA KEEPS CRAWLING - SPLIT 12''

the title of this split 12" is THE LAST & LATEST STAGNATION`S END / PARANOIA KEEPS CRAWLING RECORDINGS and that sums it up pretty good! the last STAGNATION`S END recordings are 7 tracks of which one BURN has already been released on the MAXIMUM SUBJECTIVITY comp. 12" that was done by FLOWER VIOLENCE rec. the main problem with this recordings is the sound quality which isn´t really brilliant and sad but true that counts for both bands! I´m not sure if I remember correct but they mixed these songs at least twice and maybe they recorded them more than once too. I still got an MD with the 1st recording/mix and in direct comparsion you can hear that this is much better but it still lacks energy and power! the reason why STAGNATION`S END split up was that their guitarist (who did the vocals on 2 songs of their 12"), who earned his living in something like a comercial big band or something like that, had just time for one band besides that and decided to concentrate on his other band KITTY EMPIRE. so the singer and the drummer teamed up with the SEUCHENHERD bassplayer and PARANOIA KEEPS CRAWLING were born!

the gentleman you can see on the pic in the corner down right is Füx who used to ran a label called BAD INFLUENCE rec. I´ve forgotten what the exact reasons were, but somehow he decided to release a benefit compilation for a squat in Brasil. the bands on this comp. besides DEFECTO who lived in that squat are FAULTER from the U.S., SPINEBENDER, REVOLTE, DIAVOLO ROSSO, SEUCHENHERD and WUTENTBRANNT.

back to my old friends from Alt-Ötting (which is famous among Catholics for their Mary cult and their holy well that cures illnesses!) one of the places in Germany with the highest Catholic infestation and REVENGE´s 2nd 7"! Alt-Ötting has proofed to be a fertile breeding ground for good HARDCORE bands tough! well, maybe it could proof it´s fertility cause of all that shit? REVENGE´s 2nd 7" was released when REVENGE where at their peak! 8 songs in the best recording quality REVENGE ever had! they themselves called the music they played CRUST´N´ROLL which basically meant that their CRUSTy HARDCORE didn´t lack some melody and Bozo their guitarist hadn´t bought the guitar on which all the great LEATHERFACE songs have been written from Frankie Stubbs for nothing. the 7" came with a booklet where the lyrics to each were printed on a single page. 8 songs - 8 hits! all killer - no filler! b.t.w. REVENGE´s drummer Franz is the only drummer I´ve seen till know who was throwing up while playing live! vomiting all over his drumkit and not missing a single beat!

100% GORE BEAT / FULL NOISE NINE - SPLIT 7''

100% GORE BEAT changed their name to SEUCHENHERD when the covers for this split were already printed maybe it even has been released a short before. the name is the only difference between 100% GORE BEAT and SEUCHENHERD - same people, same songs! as you might have guessed from their old name the SEUCHENHERD guys were into splatter/gore/... movies quite a bit but that had no impact on the lyrics for whatever´s sake! as the guys in SEUCHENHERD were really good on their instruments they had the proper foundation to succeed in playing really good POWER VIOLENCE HARDCORE! FULL NOISE NINE were a just a 2 piece GRINDCORE band with Pig the STAGNATION´S END drummer on, you guessed it drums! after STAGNATION´S END split he played in PARANOIA KEEPS CRAWLING until recently! there lyrics went from sensless a.k.a. non existent to political lyrics! as the 2 were living in 2 different cities they didn´t play live that often as rehearsing was barely possible for them. in spit of that difficulties they managed to do a 7" of their own as well and were on several different compilations!

CRUSHED BY ALE weren´t around for that long! they just recorded this demo did some shows, went on tour, had to break up the tout after 2 - 3 shows cause the father of one of them had become seriously ill and called it a day not to long after their broken up tour! the most interesting thing about this band is, that it was kind of an "all-star" band. Wiener from WUTENTBRANNT on drums Claus-rotten from WUTENTBRANNT, REVOLTE and QUATTRO STAGIONI (he was the bassplayer on the last MÖNSTERS tour too) on guitar, Michl from FIRST WORLD SUICIDE, ERADICATE and OPERATION:MINDFUCK on bass and Hoiz from REVENGE on vocals. I´ve to admit that I never had the chance to see them live, which I really regret! the songs on this CD suffer from a bad, somehow really flat production as they were recorded by themselves in their rehearsal with shitty equipment! so I´d loved to have the chance to hear them live to make my final judgement about them!

GROWING MOVEMENT - 7''

GROWING MOVEMENT´s 1st 7" still has to be considered one of the best 7" that ever were recorded by a band from Bavaria! if you just look at the cover you´ll notice that GROWING MOVEMENT were music-wise different to most of Bavaria´s other bands. while most of our bands had some influence from N.Y.H.C. GROWING MOVEMENT were a band that sounded like a N.Y.H.C. band and looked like a band from N.Y. in the mid of the 90ies when their full length was released the were pretty popular in Germany but first they got fucked by their record label WE BITE and then they got into quarrel amongst themselves. that was too much and so they split up. they later reformed with a new bassplayer but somehow their flame didn't burn very bright back then and so they split up again! their singer later had to do some time and after he was released they reformed for the 3rd time and are still active today even tough their singer is so fucking ill he has to do their shows sitting!

SEUCHENHERD 7"

after the split 7" with FULL NOISE NINE Günzburg´s SEUCHENHERD released their one and only 7" that runs on 45rpm and is packed with 8 vicious POWER VIOLENCE tracks! as they were very good musicians, great guys and really dedicated it seemed the were ready to really go off, but they had unbelieveable bad luck! there was some talk of doing a split 10" and a tour together with ERADICATE which was then changed in doing a split 10" and 2 tours with ERADICATE as they had to cancel their 1st studio date cause of reasons I can´t remember a one week tour, with PARANOIA KEEPS CRAWLING as 3rd band, should be done before hitting the studio and a longer one after the split was out, but one day before the tour was supposed to start their guitarplayer (who was attending school to become a music pro) got such serious problems with his hearing abilities out of nothing that the doctor said at least 6 month as less noise as possible! that somehow was the beginning of the end for SEUCHENHERD and not long after all that the split up!
